PRATT, Kan. – At approximately 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, a suspicious package was located in the Pratt County Courthouse on one of the floors. An employee notified the Sheriff’s Office.
They say they then followed their protocol, the courthouse was evacuated, and the Kansas Highway Patrol bomb squad was notified. The Kansas Highway Patrol notified the Wichita PD bomb squad.
Before the bomb squad could respond, they were able to determine the package was left by a repairman earlier in the day. He was contacted and it was confirmed this was his repair kit.
The all clear was given at approximately 4:40 p.m.
