HUTCHINSON, Kan. – A 49-year-old man who apparently made contact with a person who was granted a protection order against him was arrested Tuesday for violating that order as well as other charges.
Leslie Richards was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Those charges coming from police after being arrested for felony stalking and violation of the protection order.
In court, Richards says he came around the block and there she was. He also questioned having the protection, saying he has never touched her. When police made contact with him for the domestic matters, they allegedly found the drugs.
Senior Judge William “Buck” Lyle agreed to lower the bond from $13,000 to $7,500. He’ll be back in court on Aug. 5 for a status hearing to see if the state has filed formal charges.
