HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Eaton posted lower numbers in its hydraulics division as it announced its second quarter earnings before the bell Wednesday morning.
Sales in hydraulics fell 18 percent, while profits fell more than 24 percent. The company’s numbers were hurt by continued slowdown in construction and weak markets in China. Overall, Eaton posted total earnings of $543 million, compared with $529 million the same period a year ago. Both profits and earnings were up three percent even though sales fell by seven percent.
Siemens is the next company with ties to the area to announce its quarterly earnings when numbers are presented Thursday. ADM will follow Aug. 4.
