HUTCHINSON, Kan. – A 27-year-old man arrested on July 20 on a variety of charges associated with a domestic case was back in court Tuesday where he was read the formal charges.
Jerry Johnson Jr. is now charged with attempted aggravated robbery, aggravated assault, criminal threat, interference with law enforcement, possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana with a prior conviction.
The state alleges in the criminal complaint that Johnson attempted to take property, an Xbox 360 from the victim by force or threat. He’s also alleged to have put the victim on reasonable apprehension of immediate bodily harm with a deadly weapon, that being a knife. The state also alleges he threatened the victim with violence during that altercation.
The arrest came just before 1 p.m. in the 400 block of West 18th. Police were called to that area and Johnson allegedly ran from an officer. When arrested, he allegedly had drugs on him.
Johnson is jailed on a bond of $10,750. With the charges filed, the case will move to a future waiver-status docket.
