HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The 32-year-old Hutchinson man found guilty of kidnapping, sentenced to over 18 years in prison and facing trial in another matter saw the date for that trial pushed back to Oct. 20.
Todd Lloyd was not in court when the subject of his trial came up, but District Judge Trish Rose made a comment to District Attorney Keith Schroeder on the new date.
Lloyd is charged with making a criminal threat toward two Hutchinson Police officers. The state alleges that he threatened the lives of Sgt. Josh Radloff and Sgt. Eric Buller, who were involved in the kidnapping case. This allegedly occurred back in October.
Both officers were seated in the courtroom after the verdict was read in the kidnapping case. They say as the defendant was being escorted out of the courtroom, he told the two he would kill them if he got out of jail.
The kidnapping case against Lloyd goes back to April 23 of last year when he came close to being shot by two Hutchinson Police officers during an altercation where he held his girlfriend at knife point. He eventually threw the knives down and, after a brief struggle, was taken into custody.
Again, the new trial date in the threat case is set for Oct. 20.
