Mc PHERSON, Kan. – Law enforcement and the Kansas Highway Patrol involved in a high speed chase Wednesday afternoon.
According to McPherson County 911, the chase started just before 3 p.m. on K-61 south of McPherson. Reno County authorities were summoned for help just after 3 p.m. after the chase made its way into northeast part of the county.
The chase continued around the Buhler area before the driver got onto K-61 and raced north back into McPherson County. The chase continued into the city of McPherson and raced through several areas of town which included the suspect making a U-turn in the McPherson County Law Enforcement Center parking lot on W. Woodside Street. The man eventually pulled into a parking lot and surrendered about 3:50 p.m.
Speeds during the chase reached near 100 miles per hour. Two subjects were taken into custody, their names not released at this time.
Units from McPherson County as well as Reno County Sheriffs officers and the Kansas Highway Patrol were all involved in the chase.
