HUTCHINSON, Kan. – A pawn shop in Hutchinson was closed and property seized for a shoRt period of time by the State’s Department of Revenue for non-payment of taxes.
The state shut down Bob’s Trading Post on Tuesday, although the store was open for business again Wednesday afternoon. According to the Department of Revenue, the pawn shop owed more than $97,000 in unpaid sales tax. It was thought an agreement was in place for paying the back taxes, but the state came in on Tuesday and closed the store.
Everything is now settled and Bob’s is open for business as usual.
