NICKERSON, Kan. – A 40-year-old Nickerson man was arrested after he led law enforcement on a chase that ended in the 400 block of West C in Nickerson on Sunday.
It all started around 9:45 a.m. when Deputy Jack Trussell made contact with the parents of Brandon Sutton in regard to a welfare check. Sutton had contacted family, stating that he had been in a motorcycle accident, but was unsure where he was.
The reporting party stated that the accident had occurred some time over night. As Deputy Trussell was leaving Nickerson on K-14, he observed a motorcycle heading toward Nickerson.
He believed the driver of the motorcycle might be Brandon Sutton. When he attempted to stop the motorcycle, the chase ensued.
The chase went north on Riverton Road to 88th and then into the city of Nickerson.
Brandon Sutton was taken into custody and had an outstanding warrant for a probation violation and was also charged with felony flee and elude, felony obstruction, no insurance, no tag and driver’s license violations.
Sutton was transported by Reno County EMS to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center for injuries that occurred in the motorcycle accident the previous night. Sutton was unable to give details regarding the location of the motorcycle accident. There were no injuries or damage to patrol vehicles as a result of the chase.
His bond was set at $750.
