Pennsylvania man injured after being struck on his bicycle

STERLING, Kan. – A 28-year-old man from Pennsylvania was taken to the hospital Sunday afternoon for treatment of his injuries after being struck while riding his bicycle in the extreme north end of Reno county.

According to the Reno County Sheriff’s Office, Dustin Venn of Coal Township, Pa. was westbound riding his bike on 101st, just east of Peace Rd. A Chevy Comaro driven by 74-year-old Linda Hall was also westbound and failed to give room for the bicyclist. Hall clipped the bicycle with the driver’s side of her vehicle.

Venn was transported by Reno County EMS to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries while Hall was not injured.

She was cited for passing unsafely.

The accident occurring around 12:10 p.m., about three miles south of Sterling, but in Reno County.
