According to some numbers handed down by County Administrator Gary Meagher, it appears the county is ahead of where they were at this time last year in the collection of mortgage registration tax and behind where they were for mortgage recording fees.
So far this year, the county has collected 358-thousand, 590-dollars for the mortgage registration tax, compared with this time last year when the county collected 282-thousand, 76-dollars.
As for the recording fee, the county collected more at this time last year with a figure of 121-thousand, 802-dollars, compared to this year when the county collected 109-thousand, 721-dollars.
Totals show 468-thousand, 312-dollars collected so far this year between the tax and the fee. Last year at this time, the number was 403-thousand, 879-dollars.
According to the figures released by Meagher, it appears that its still an increase over 2012 to this point in the year by 64-thousand, 433-dollars.
The numbers reflect collections through the month of July.
