The Reno County Sheriff’s Office have made an arrest in a case where a man was taken to an area hospital after he was stabbed, beaten and possibly run over during a party early Sunday east of Hutchinson.
The Reno County Sheriff’s Office arrested James Jonathon Allen Dean on a charge of aggravated battery. He was taken into custody Tuesday morning, where he then posted a 10-thousand dollar bond.
It was around 2:15 a-m, Reno County Sheriff’s Deputies and Reno County EMS were dispatched to 11304 E 30th for the report of a stabbing.
A large party was taking place at this address and two men decided to go behind the house to an open field to drive around in the mud. While in the field, Jeffrey Kinney reported that Dean while in the truck punched him, stabbed him, and possibly ran him over. Kinney was able to flee from the individual and make it back to the house but was in serious medical condition.
Kinney is still in serious condition at an area hospital for stab and other wounds according to sheriff officials.
Dean is no stranger to law enforcement having been convicted of aggravated robbery in McPherson County in 2002 and attempted theft in Harvey County in 2003.
The Sheriff’s Office still wants anyone with information about this case to contact their office or Crime Stoppers of Reno County at 620-694-2666 or 1-(800)222-TIPS.
With Dean free on bond, he should make a first appearance on the charge in the coming days.
