HUTCHINSON, Kan. – Another road construction project will soon be added to the mix around the city of Hutchinson as the City Council approved the low bid for work on the Airport Road Bridge.
The Council gave the go ahead with Donlinger and Sons for the major renovation of the four-lane span of the BNSF Railway yard at a cost of $1,128,000 Work on the project is expected to start late this summer. The bid is more than $100,000 over the engineers estimate. The project is one of four major road projects in the city including N. Main, Waldron Street between 23rd and 30th, and the 30th Avenue resurfacing project which is expected to begin later this summer.
The Council also approved a declaration for naming Hutchinson Smallville during the Smallville festival set for later this month and approved sitting public hearings for numerous special assessments on several additions in and around the city.
The public hearings on those projects will be held July 7.
