HUTCHINSON, Kan.— Reno County Administrator Gary Meagher says the county sales tax numbers still look good. This despite a drop in both the sales tax collection and the amount of sales tax collected for the correctional facility.
Meaghr reported to the Commission during Tuesday’s agenda session that the county has collected $1,875,000 for the first four months of the year. That compares to $1,844,000 last year. The sales tax for the new correctional facility totals $1,516,000 so far this year compared with $1.5 million for the first third of 2014.
Tax collections in April were both less than the previous month and below the same month of 2014.
