State files additional charges against a Hutchinson woman in attempted murder case
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The state was granted a continuance for a 35-year-old woman charged with three counts of attempted murder in the second degree because two of their witnesses were unavailable.
However, the state announced that they will be amending the complaint against Nicole Green adding three additional charges of aggravated assault and changing another count from criminal discharge of firearm to intentionally firing into a vehicle. Deputy District Attorney Tom Stanton says the three aggravated assault charges are additional counts added to the complaint and not alternate counts to the three charges of attempted murder.
Green was arrested for an incident occurring on Feb. 21, when police were dispatched to Midas Muffler and Brake Shop at 1101 N. Lorraine in Hutchinson after a vehicle struck the building.
Its started in the Walmart parking lots when the victims were confronted by Green. After a brief argument, the three left the parking lot and drove south on K-61 with Green following them in her vehicle and repeatedly shooting at the vehicle they were in until they eventually ended up on Lorraine and crashed the vehicle into the southwest side of Midas. Green left the scene and later turned herself in at the Law Enforcement Center.
The hearing is now rescheduled for May 7 in front of Judge Joe McCarville.
