While Judge Tim Chambers recently set a motion deadline, but no trial date for Jordon LeShore in an attempted murder case, he continued the pretrial hearing for his brother because of possible plea negotiations.

Joseph LeShore also waived his right to a speedy trial in the hopes of reaching a plea deal with the state. The case will come before the court again in two weeks to see where things stand.

The two LeShore brothers along with four others are charged with attempted first degree murder, Aggravated battery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated burglary. Jordon LeShore is also charged with an additional count of aggravated battery.

For one of the other suspects, Judge Chambers set a motion deadline of August 30, with the trial possibly in September. That being Sean Arevalo Mendoza. He also agreed to lower his bond to 50-thousand based on preliminary hearing testimony which showed he had a minor role in the case.

The six suspects are accused with the beating and stabbing of Jeffrey Payne. The other three include Desmond Cantu, Troy Bell and John Robert Cantu.

The attack on Payne occurred back on February 18, when these men allegedly broke into Payne’s home and physically attacked and stabbed him numerous times in the leg and torso. The motive for the attack appears to be an incident involving the LeShore brothers mother where she may have been slapped so hard, she was knocked down.

Judge Joe McCarville had earlier revoked Jordon LeShore’s probation for in two previous cases and he’s currently serving 30-months in prison.
