BUHLER, Kan. – Buhler High School student Taylor Martens has earned national recognition in The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards of 2015 for her colored pencil drawing titled “Sleeping.”
Martens’ work was identified by a panel of creative professionals as one of the most talented young artists and writers in the nation. This year, 300,000 works of art and writing were submitted. Only the top 1 percent were recognized at the national level.
Martens will be attending a ceremony at the world-famous Carnegie hall on Thursday, June 11. Her drawing is displayed at the Hutchinson Public Library for the month of April.
