A Hutchinson woman convicted of four burglaries in association with the string of church burglaries which occurred last year was granted 24-months probation. Actually. Desiree Mahoney was given 1-year on each of the four counts against her, but Judge Trish Rose then run the counts concurrent to each other for a total of 1-year. She then granted the two years of probation.
She was one of the four people arrested in association with the burglary and damage to local churches in the summer of 2012.
Another defendant in this case, Jordon Schmucker is scheduled for a probation violation Friday.
A third defendant, Justin Branscom was granted community corrections with an underlying sentence of 38-months.
Although Hickey is a juvenile, his cases were prosecuted in adult court and he was sentenced back in November to 32-months in prison, but then granted 24-months community corrections. However, he did violate his corrections, served a 30-days jail sanction, then allegedly committed more crimes hours after being released from the county jail. He is currently awaiting trial on the new charges.
