HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson City Council will have a study session Tuesday and one of the items on that agenda is discussion and recommendations for a rental housing registration and inspection program.
It stated back in December when the Hutchinson City Council and the Housing Commission talked of implementing a rental inspection program which they say would address the conditions of some rental units. That would include inspecting things like ventilation, passageways, accessibility, heating and electric, plumbing and smoke and fire alarms.
City staff was told to develop a mandatory rental inspection program for consideration by the housing commission and the city council.
That will be up for discussion during the city council study session on Tuesday which begins at 8 a.m., at city hall.
