HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Unless some items are added to the agenda, the Reno County Commission Tuesday looks to be fairly brief.
The highlight may be a presentation of a mitigation project at Sand Hills State Park by Shawna Hartman with Kansas State Forestry Service.
They will also hear a report on a proposed bill before the Kansas Legislature which would allow appointing, rather than electing the county treasurer by county governments.
They are also expected to review other statutes that might allow the reorganization or the elimination of the treasurer’s office.
Also up for discussion is the possible expansion of the county commission from the current three members to five.
