HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Officials with Hutchfest have announced a new event for the annual Fourth of July celebration which will include car racing.
Ron Williams telling Eagle Radio that they are teaming up with 81 Speedway and Mel Hambelton Ford for racing prior to the fireworks show on July 4.
He says this is something different and will feature four divisions of racing at the Grandstand on the state fairgrounds.
Featured divisions for the auto races Saturday night on the 4th of July will be the Modified, AAAModified, Rookie Modified, Street Stock and Thumper. The grandstand will open at 5 p.m. with race time at 7 p.m.
Admission for the auto races will be $12.00 Age 11 and up, $5.00 Children 6 thru 10. Festival goers wearing the official 2015 Hutch Fest wristband will receive $2.00 off an adult admission ticket to the races.
Williams says there will be other things happening on the fairgrounds the day before and possibly prior to the racing and fireworks show.
They made the announcement at a town hall meeting on Wednesday evening.
He says they will have a full schedule of events for the two days on their web page in the near future.
