Hutchinson woman bound over in bizarre case from last summer

HUTCHINSON, Kan. – A woman arrested after authorities were called to the 200 block of South Plum last July where she was reportedly running naked outside with three children has been bound over for trial.

22-year-old Michelle Taylor is charged with aggravated battery of a law enforcement officer, battery of a law enforcement officer, criminal damage to property, assault of a law enforcement officer, interference with law enforcement and child endangerment. After the hearing Wednesday, the state added an additional count of battery of a law enforcement officer

The call to police was over the concern for the kids and Taylor. When police arrived, they found the four outside naked. Police were forced to subdue Taylor who at one point allegedly struck an officer in the face twice. She’s also alleged to have tried to reach for another officers side arm. She had to be tased and was taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center for observation before she was taken to the Reno County jail.

With her being bound over, arraignment will be on March 2.

Two of the three arrested on meth charges back in court

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Two of the three people were arrested on methamphetamine related charges were back in court Wednesday morning for the formal reading of charges.

23-year-old Paige White of McPherson and 31-year-old Allison Stroda of Enterprize, Kansas are now charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell, at least 3.5 grams, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to distribute and personal use drug paraphernalia. 27-year-old who gave the name of Shawn Green also faces those charges and a charge of interference with law enforcement. The arrest coming back on Feb. 12, in the 4200 block of North Plum.

Stroda is free and in court tried to get the judge to let White out of jail saying that all of the drugs were hers, but Magistrate Judge Randy McEwen told her to talk with her attorney.

The cases against the two now move to a waiver-status docket on March 17.

Green is also charged and the case against him is also pending.

Man arrested for aggravated battery incident Tuesday night

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A 37-year-old man is jailed on a $10,000 bond for a charge of aggravated battery and also a probation violation after he’s alleged to have battered a Hutchinson man late Tuesday night.

Leroy L. Lowe of Hutchinson accused of striking 56-year-old Robert Schmidt in the 1500 block of East 3rd.

The incident reported around 10:20 p.m. Tuesday night. He made a first appearance where he was told of the potential charge and Magistrate Judge Randy McEwen set a status hearing in the case for next Wednesday.
