HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Kevin J. Miller, F.A.C.H.E., President and CEO of Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System, has been reappointed to a three year term on the council on policy and advocacy for the Kansas Hospital Association.
Miller will also continue to serve as chairman of the South Central District of the Kansas Hospital Association while serving as a member of the Strategic Planning Committee for KHA.
In these positions, Miller will continue working with other KHA members regarding issues of critical importance affecting the healthcare industry, both on a legislative and regulatory level, that are under consideration at the state and national level.
In conjunction, Miller announced that Robin Thomas, Director of Patient Accounting at Hutchinson Regional will serve on the KanCare Implementation Technology Group of KHA which is responsible for monitoring the state sponsored healthcare program for Medicaid recipients.
Miller said in a news release that the need to participate in advocacy groups is growing as a result of changes that impact the healthcare industry.
“Robin Thomas is on the front lines every day dealing with a myriad of payment issues in her position as Director of Patient Accounting,” Miller said. “She will be a subject matter expert with her contemporaries while serving on the KanCare Implementation Technology Group,” Miller said.
“In these turbulent times for healthcare, it is vitally important that those of us in the industry are speaking from the same page in advocating a position that will ensure our survival,” Miller continued. “We are more united than ever working with the KHA to advocate solutions to providing the highest quality healthcare for cities large and small throughout Kansas.”
