HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The two people arrested over the weekend on drug related charges after police recovered a reported stolen vehicle made court appearances Monday morning.

35-year-old Nichole Moore was jailed for possession of meth, interference with law enforcement and criminal damage. 23-year-old Jacob Elzey, was arrested for distribution of a substance that contained methamphetamine, possession of opiates, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to distribute, personal use drug paraphernalia, interference with law enforcement and criminal damage.

Elzey told Judge Joe McCarville that he doesn’t remember anything about what happened and says he hates drugs and denies he sells drugs. But the judge indicated that they found drugs and also other baggies used for selling drugs. He denied any bond reduction for both.

The two were arrested around 10:20 a.m., Saturday morning in the 500 block of North Van Buren. Apparently an officer saw them in the vehicle and they apparently both attempted to flee when they stopped the vehicle and broke a fence in the process. Elzey is then alleged to have given a different name. That according to statements made in court.

Elzey’s bond remains at $26,500 and Moore’s bond is $10,750. Moore also has another case pending for felony theft.

Both will be back in court on Wednesday.
