HUTCHINSON, Kan. – Tuesday was the deadline for candidate to file for the city and school board spring election.
In Hutchinson there will be one race for the city council southeast district where Steve Dechant and pastor Daryl Peterson will run against each other in the general election. The other open seats are unopposed with Jade Piros de Carvalho running in the Northeast district and Dave Inskeep running for the at large position.
In Hutchinson USD-308 there will be five candidate for 4 positions. They are Mena Michael, Randall Gray, Lance Patterson, Greg Meredith and Jennifer Cook. In Buhler Jake Schmidt, Chris Ledbetter and David Zook are running for three seats available. In Buhler USD-313, Marilyn Bolton, Cliff Wray, Mathew McCabe, and Vernon Goerl are all running unopposed.
The big item on the spring election of course will be the sports arena tax proposal. The spring election is April 7th.
