HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The lockdown that has been in place at the Hutchinson Correctional Facility has been partially lifted. It comes three days after three corrections officers were attacked in two separate incidents.
According to HCF Spokesperson Dirk Moss, the lockdown has been lifted for all of the central unit except for the cell house where the two attacks occurred. That area of the prison will remain in lockdown until further notice.
The three officers were attacked by several known inmates in two separate incidents Tuesday night. All three officers sustained injuries and were taken to the Hutchinson Regional Medical Center for treatment by facility staff and later released.
Two inmates were taken into custody and placed in the Administrative Segregation unit.
