HUTCHINSON, Kan. – It took about 40 minutes for the County Commission to get through their agenda with the highlight being the appointment of a interim director of the Reno County Health Department. Julia Hulsey who has been the director since April of 2012, when Judy Seltzer retired is now also retiring as of today. Hulsey has been with the county since 2007.
Nick Baldetti who has been the Assistant Director will take over the office until a decision is made on a permanent replacement.
The commission also approved a software upgrade for the county’s phone system from Communications Technology Associate of Wichita at a cost of $28,203.
They also gave the go ahead to have two R-cat buses put on Purple Wave Auction. Both buses have used up their service life.
They also approved transferring carry-over funds from the District Court to their Capital Outlay fund to assist in the cost of moving the District Court Clerk’s offices from the third floor to the first floor once the offices of the County Treasurer and Register of Deeds move to the current jail annex. That will occur once the new county jail is completed.
