Siemens and Alcoa are part of what is known as the Apprenticeship Playbook, a “how to” guide to build a workforce-ready talent pipeline in communities across the country. The playbook release is a follow-up to The White House’s Advanced Manufacturing Partnership 2.0 Report, entitled  “Accelerating U.S. Advanced Manufacturing.”

As part of AMP, Alcoa, Dow and Siemens have formed a coalition to build regional apprenticeship models and create an siemens logoinstructional playbook for other U.S.-based companies seeking to develop apprenticeship programs. The coalition developed a comprehensive apprenticeship playbook based on proven best practices and learnings across all three companies, which includes sample tools, real company experiences, and covers everything from workforce planning to ensuring that the program remains relevant.

The playbook is expected to be an important resource for manufacturers and their partners interested in the American Apprenticeship Grants competition that is expected to be announced by the U.S. Department of Labor.

The Apprenticeship Playbook is intended to provide relevant and helpful information to anyone interested in building an Apprenticeship program.
