HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Reno County Commission, as part of its meeting Tuesday, will consider allowing certain county departments to transfer carryover funds to other areas of their departments.
That includes two departments being allowed to transfer carryover funds to their capital outlay fund. The others include allowing all fire districts to transfer general fund money to their special equipment fund and allowing public works road bridge dollars to be transferred to the special highway improvement fund.
And as we reported last week, the county will hold a public hearing over a petition to dissolve the Hutchinson Industrial Park District 1. This taxing district on the east side of the city was set up when it was still in the county to collect taxes for amenities such as fire service. They had earlier been asked to dissolve the district but had to wait because of an issue with the Dillons Warehouse property where they were owed property taxes. That meant the others had to be taxed to pay that off. That is no longer an issue, so now the district can be dissolved.
The commission will also consider the hourly rate for County Counselor Joe O’Sullivan. They are expected to approve that rate from $120 to $125 for regular contract work. And the retainer fee would be increased from $700 per month to $1,000.
Also on the agenda is the request from the Reno County Sheriff’s Office to purchase a 2015 Ford Interceptor from Shawnee Mission Ford at a price of $26,635.
The commission will also consider the requirements and fees for survey and subdivision plat reviews.
The meeting starts at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Reno County Courthouse.
