Reno County Courthouse 2

A 61-year-old Hutchinson area woman who faces animal cruelty charges in three different cases was a no show in court. 61-year-old Linda Sue Adams apparently was injured, possibly in an accident and was reportedly at the emergency room at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.

The state had requested a bench warrant when they determined there was no auto accident in Hutchinson Wednesday afternoon. But, Magistrate Judge Randy McEwen took a recess and was able to confirm through the hospital that she was there. He then denied the states request for a bench warrant and reset the trial for July 30.

The other two cases against Adams also involve animal cruelty charges which alleges she failed to care for her horses in 2009 and again in 2011.

A civil lawsuit against her is scheduled for hearing on July 29.

She actually had two attorney’s for the three cases, one was local attorney Greg Meredith, and the other was Shannon Crane. Meredith asked to be taken off the cases he was assigned to Wednesday which was granted by Judge McEwen. That means when the criminal cases comes up again later this month, Crane will be her attorney for all three.
