LANGDON, Kan. — Reno County 911 says that service has been restored in Langdon after a severed fiber optic line knocked out residential land line phone service for almost 14 hours.
The line was fractured around 11 a.m. on Tuesday and service was not restored until very early this morning. According to Michelle Abott, attempts to repair the line failed, prolonging the outage until the cable could be replaced. The incident knocked out 911 land line service to about 77 customers in Langdon although 911 cell service was still in tact.
Residents also have the option of dialing the standard emergency dispatch number, which is 620-694-2800.
