TOPEKA, Kan. — Gov. Sam Brownback announced Monday nearly $4 million in grants for the 2015 Federal Victims of Crime Act, Victim Assistance grant program.

The Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Center in Hutchinson was one of the organizations selected. They’ll receive $109,023.

The Harvey County Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Task Force will receive $69,765.

The V.O.C.A. grants provide direct services to crime victims to respond to their emotional and physical needs, assist primary and secondary crime victims in stabilizing their lives after a victimization, assist victims in understanding and participating in the criminal justice system, and provide crime victims with a measure of safety.
