HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson Fire crews responded to a house fire Sunday evening.
The fire was called in by an unknown person around 6:25 p.m. in the 300 block of West 9th Avenue. When crews arrived, they found the back porch of the home fully involved. It took crews about 25 minutes to bring the fire under control. The fire caused damage to the back of the house including the kitchen, one upstairs bedroom and the attic. Damage is estimated at $40,000. No one was home at the time of the fire and there were no injuries. The cause of the fire appears to be electrical in nature.
The Red Cross was called in to help the family displaced by the fire.
