CANTON, Kan.– A Kansas man was killed in an accident just before 7 a.m. on Wednesday in McPherson County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2010 Toyota Corolla driven by James Samual Schultz, 42, Scott City, was westbound on U.S. 56 just east of 23rd Avenue in Canton.
The vehicle crossed the centerline into the eastbound lane striking a 2014 Ford F150 driven by Hope J. Hill, 74, Galva, head on.
Schultz was pronounced dead at the scene and transported to the Sedgwick County Coroners Office.
Hill was transported to St. Francis Medical Center in Wichita.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported both drivers were properly restrained at the time of the accident.

MCPHERSON- First responders are on the scene of a two-vehicle accident on U.S. 56 in McPherson County.
Officials say one person has died and another has been transported for treatment. Traffic is being re-routed between Canton and Galva at 23rd Avenue.
