HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson City Council gave approval to two service workers contracts during today’s agenda session. The first is for the service employees which will run through 2015. The new contract calls for a step pay increase of around 3.3 percent and a flat 3 percent pay increase for those at the top of the scale based on their performance.
The contract also removes the residency requirement and differential pay that will be grandfathered out at the water treatment plant. A change in work schedules means that the differential pay is not a part of the contract. The new contract also raises the uniform allowance by $50 to $150.
The other service contract is for the 911 dispatch operators. The new one-year deal also calls for step pay increases, but voted no to the scale pay raise as no one is at the top of the scale at this time. It also removes the residency requirement.
