Sex Offenders

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A 34-year-old Hutchinson man accused of aggravated indecent liberties with a child waived his right to a preliminary hearing Monday, meaning his case could go to trial.

David Baldwin is accused of a single count of aggravated indecent liberties with a child which is alleged to have occurred sometime between Aug. 1 and Sept. 30, 2012. The case involves the inappropriate touching of a 7-year-old child.

Even though the case goes back to 2012, his arrest didn’t come until July of this year. He’ll be arraigned on the charge early next month

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A 36-year-old Hutchinson man appeared via video from the Reno County Jail on new charges of being in possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell withing 1,000 feet of a school and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Ulysses Williams Jr. was arrested after he was pulled over in the 300 block of East Sherman Friday afternoon. When officers made contact, they discovered he had an outstanding warrant and he was taken into custody. Officers then alleged that they found three individually packaged zip-close bags of a crystal substance in his pocket. Each weighed about a quarter gram. They also say they found a digital scale and more packaging materials in the vehicle. He was stopped within 1,000 feet of Hutchinson Middle School-7.

He was also read the charges in an earlier case where he’s charged with possession of meth and drug paraphernalia.

In court, his bonds were left the same which total $14,500. He is expected back in court on Wednesday.

Hutchinson man taken to jail for failing to appear in drug case

Anthony Everhart

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — One of two people arrested after a Hutchinson woman reported to police that she had been robbed failed to make it to court on time in another case and was sent to jail by Judge Joe McCarville on a $170,000 bond.

30-year-old Anthony Everhart was scheduled for a preliminary hearing, charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to package drugs for distribution. He did eventually show up, but long after the hearing was scheduled to begin. Judge McCarville basically told him, “you blew it.”

He was arrested along with 24-year-old Kylie Berry when officers served a search warrant on a home and say they found a little over three grams of methamphetamine and other drugs. The residence is located within a thousand feet of Wiley Elementary School. He also has a third case.

Berry was also not present, but there may have been some confusion with her bonding agent over her appearing.

In the most recent case, Everhart was arrested along with 20-year-old Francesca Wharton. Both have been charged with aggravated robbery while Everhart is also charged with possession of methamphetamine.

The two were taken into custody back on Oct. 15. The 23-year-old victim, Tara Moeller, was apparently lured to the Days Inn Motel by the two when they allegedly held her at gun point and took a zebra print purse and its contents.

Wharton has two other cases pending against her, including four counts of forgery in one and traffic of contraband into a correctional facility in the other.
