Two people were taken to a Wichita Hospital, one in critical condition after a motorcycle accident in the county Monday afternoon.
According to the Reno County Sheriff’s Office, emergency responders were sent to the single motorcycle crash scene at Yoder Rd., and Silver Lake Rd.
When they arrived, they found a 2001 Suzuki GSXR 750, driven by 22-year-old Kyle Werner, and a passenger, 21-year-old Jessica Parson, had been southbound on Yoder Rd., and approached a curve where the road transitions to Silver Lake Rd. Werner, realized to late that he was going to fast to make the curve and locked up the brakes. The motorcycle slid off the roadway, and struck a stop sign.
Werner was not wearing a helmet, and was transported by Midwest Life Team helicopter to Via-Cristi St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita in critical condition. Parson was wearing a helmet, and was transported by Reno County E-M-S to St. Francis with what were thought to be non life threatening injuries.
The accident reported just before 3 p-m, Monday afternoon.
