A strong storm system is forecast to move slowly east across the Kansas Region late Sunday into Monday. Gulf moisture will surge rapidly northward ahead of this weather system, resulting in widespread showers and thunderstorms late Sunday into Sunday Night. Some of the storms could be severe from southern Kansas southward. A few lingering showers will affect eastern Kansas Monday, however gusty northwest winds of 20 to 30 mph will affect the entire area.
