HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A convicted murderer from Pratt who is being housed at the Hutchinson Correctional Facility Central Unit is scheduled to be in court Thursday for a criminal case here.
Although specific details won’t be known until 24-year-old Charles Denmark-Wagner makes an appearance in court, we have been told that the charges will include solicitation to commit aggravated intimidation and solicitation to commit criminal threat, no doubt for crimes inside the local prison.
Denmark-Wagner was sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for 20 years after he entered a plea in a murder case. The state dropped all the other charges against him including an alternate count of murder, aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, and possession of narcotics. He had tried unsuccessfully to withdraw his plea in that case.
Denmark-Wagner and 30-year-old Dan Riendeau were convicted in the stabbing death of 48-year-old Alesia M. Doris-Graham. She was found inside her bedroom and had been stabbed with a knife as many as 100 times in the head, neck, back and arm. The murder occurred back on Nov. 22, 2008.
Riendeau also entered pleas in the case against him and was sentenced to 22 1/2 years in prison.
Denmark-Wagner is not scheduled to be released from prison until 2028.
