A 56-year-old Inman man was killed in a motorcycle-deer accident in Harvey County early Tuesday.
The Harvey County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the 10-thousand block of Hesston Road, just before 5 a-m, on the report of a motorcycle accident. When they arrived, they found Michael Rogers laying on the southeast side of the roadway, in an unresponsive condition. It appeared he had hit a deer in the roadway.
Rogers was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. He was taken to Via-Cristi St Francis Regional Medical Center in critical condition. Around 1:15 a-m, Wednesday morning, Rogers was pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the accident.
Rogers had left his home in Inman and was on his way to work at AGCO in Hesston when the accident occurred.
