YODER, Kan. — Police officers and community members from across the state are completing training through the Fair and Impartial Policing Community Advisory Board Training Academy here in Hutchinson.
Leaders from six Kansas communities, officers and personnel from the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center, local law enforcement agencies, and Kansas African American Affairs Commissioners and staff are involved.
This has been taking place at The Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center near Yoder.
The Academy is a project of the Kansas African American Affairs Commission and the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center and is funded by the Kansas Department of Transportation.
The Community Advisory Board Training Academy aims to help develop community plans that promote fair and impartial police practices in the areas of policy, training, supervision, accountability, recruitment, and hiring.
The two-day program, which began on Wednesday and ended Thursday is designed to familiarize participants with contemporary police training and practices.
