HUTCHINSON, Kan. — It appears the county took in a little more sales tax dollars last month then the previous month, and more then what was taken in for the month of September of last year.
According to the latest numbers released by County Treasurer Jan Hull, the county collected $389,256 in September compared to the $381,408 collected in August. That’s a difference of just over $7,800 dollars.
Last year for the same period, the county only collected $373,881. That means that in September, the county collected over $15,000 more than for the same period last year.
So far this year, the county has collected $3,428,181 compared with only $3,283,809 for the same period last year. That makes the county ahead for the year by $144,372.
The numbers for September reflect sales in the county for the month of July.
