HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson Community Foundation inviting locals who care about Hutchinson to revisit the past and imagine the future on Thursday at the Fox Theater.
The program begins at 6:30 p.m. with an oral and pictorial history of Hutchinson since 1872 with Mr. Nation Meyer, Senior Chairman of the Board, First National Bank of Hutchinson. The program continues with visions of the future by Ryan Diehl, Mimi Mathers Meredith, Morgan Payton Starkweather, David Sotelo, and Allen Magnet School Students.
“Mr. Meyer is wealth of information about the history of Hutchinson,” said Aubrey Patterson, Foundation President and Executive Director. “We are thrilled that the community will have a chance to experience his photos and historical knowledge.”
Doors open at 5:00 p.m. for a reception and Idea Exchange in the Fox lobby, which continues after the program. Front porch music will be provided by Simone du Garfunk.
“We want to hear from everyone in Hutchinson—of every age—about their ideas for our community both now and in the next decade,” said Kari Mailloux, Foundation Program Officer. “The Idea Exchange before and after the program will give everyone a voice in what the Foundation will explore and take action on in 2015 and beyond.”
Attendees can round out the evening with a one-hour historical walking tour of downtown, leaving from the Fox Theater at 5 or 8 o’clock. The event is free to the public.
