HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Because of the problems that persisted in the Reno County Treasurer’s Office, the county announced that they would hire someone to keep the books in order.
On Wednesday, County Administrator Gary Meagher announced that Leslie Roederer will be joining the Reno County staff on Sept. 22 to fill the newly created position of Accounting Specialist. Roederer is a resident of Reno County and has extensive accounting experience with companies in Kansas and Texas.
She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas, and a Master of Management Information Systems degree from Friends University in Wichita, Kan. Ms. Roederer has obtained her Certified Public Accountant certification from the State of Kansas. The county was forced to hire a financial specialist after numerous errors occurred under current treasurer Jan Hull.
As a result, the county recently lowered Hull’s salary because of her lack of performance and to help make up for the cost of hiring the outside help.
