Also today author Thomas Percy will be signing copies of his book “Images of America, The Kansas State Fair” In 1913, Kansas Legislature revised the Kansas State Fair and selected Hutchinson as the event’s permanent home. Since then, hundreds of photographs and memories have been made on the Fairgrounds. Percy published “Images of America: Kansas State Fair” in 2014. The book, which includes over 200 black and white images, captures the photographic memories of thousands of fairgoers.
Though not born and raised in Kansas, Percy now teaches at Hutchinson Community College.
