Severe thunderstorms could develop over central Kansas as early as very late Sunday afternoon, but are likely Sunday evening. This area is roughly west of a line from Hillsboro to Newton to Kingman. Golf ball or larger hail, damaging winds and localized flooding are all possible. Strong to severe storms and localized flooding are also possible on Monday afternoon and evening, roughly south of a line from Salina to Great Bend, including all of south central and southeast Kansas. Anyone with outdoor activities this Labor Day weekend is urged to check later forecasts for updated information.
