HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Kansas Department of Revenue, with the help of the Reno County Sheriff’s Office, seized the property of a local antique store Wednesday morning for not paying state required taxes.
The Shabby Chic was founded in 2012 and is located at 508 E. 4th. They apparently took control of the property around 9:30 a.m., and were still at the store this afternoon.
The store is described as specializing in antiques and collectibles, and employed at least one person.
Details of how much back taxes owed were not available.
