The Kansas Highway Patrol has now released information on a multiple car accident on K-61 near Inman Thursday evening that sent several people to area hospitals.
The accident occurred during the severe storms that were moving through the area causing a complete blackout in that area. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, it started when 68-year-old Gwen Keyser of Hutchinson struck the rear of a vehicle driven by 34-year-old Crystal L. Shankle of Hutchinson, then a third vehicle driven by 67-year-old Pamela Jennings of Hutchinson then struck the back of Keyser’s vehicle, but then also struck it broadside. Keyser’s vehicle was then struck by a vehicle driven by 29-year-old Anthony Elmer of Lindsborg.
Gwen Keyser and Pamela Jennings were both transported to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center in Hutchinson.
Crystal Shankle and her three passengers, 4-year-old Sierra Shankle, 7-year-old Ariana Shankle and 10-year-old Emma Shankle along with Anthony Elmer were all taken to the hospital in McPherson.
The accident occurring just before 6 p-m, seven miles north of the Inman exit along K-61 in McPherson County.
