HUTCHINSON, Kan. – One of two arrested for aggravated burglary of a Hutchinson home where several weapons were allegedly taken may enter a plea in the case Friday morning.

19-year-old Brandon Hudson and 18-year-old Joshua Cellers were arrested for aggravated burglary, theft and criminal damage to property.

The state alleges they used a credit card to pick a lock to an attached garage at a home on Cone Street. They alleged took as many as 5-rifles and several handguns. The burglary apparently occurring while the occupant of the residence was at home. This allegedly occurring on February 26.

Hudson was before Judge Joe McCarville Wednesday where his attorney told the judge that his client is going to enter a plea. Senior Assistant District Attorney Steve Maxwell indicated he was ready for the waiver and plea, but Sam Kepfield who is representing Hudson asked for a little more time so that he could prepare and advice of rights form. He says he wants this because of the potential of his client going to prison. The judge agreed to set the hearing for Friday.

Cellers had earlier entered pleas in this case and two others. Judge Joe McCarville sentenced him to two years, eight months in prison, but then granted him three years community corrections. The state had asked that the sentence be served, while the defense argued it was a border box case and asked for corrections.

Cellers was also sentenced for burglary of a dwelling and theft of a firearm in a case from January 31. This occurring at a home in the 600 block of Town & Country. The third case included charges of non-residential burglary, criminal damage to property and misdemeanor theft. In this case, he’s alleged to broken in to the Extreme Crossfire Paintball at 5 North Mohawk Rd, and the stealing a golf cart. These crimes occurring back on January 19.
