Shelia Davison 2

HUTCHINSON, Kan. – A 52-year-old Hutchinson woman already serving prison time in prison for a flee and elude case from March of last year was back in two different courtrooms Thursday on two different cases.

Shelia Davison was before Judge Joe McCarville where she was scheduled for a preliminary hearing on charges of distribution of methamphetamine, no tax stamp and driving while suspended. She was arrested back on March 24. She’s accused of having between 3.5 and 100 grams of meth. The possession charge is a level two drug felony which could land her in prison for up to 12 years.

Deputy District Attorney Tom Stanton told the court that he has not been asked for any plea offer in the case and Judge McCarville asked her if she has talked with her attorney over seeking a plea, but she stated, “no.” Because she is in prison, she hasn’t spoken with him.

This case, along with another case, will be moved to a waiver-status docket on August 20.

The other case has to do with charges of felony theft of a John Deere four-wheeler and the alleged conspiracy to commit the theft. These crimes allegedly occurred between March 21 and March 23 of this year.

Bond in the latest case is only $1,500 and, according to the Kansas Department of Corrections’ website, she is scheduled for release from prison on Friday in the flee and elude case.
