HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A breakdown of registered voters shows the number of republicans and democrats in the 
county remains about the same from last year.
According to figures released from the County Clerk’s Office, 45 percent of registered voters in the county are republicans, while 23 percent are registered as democrats. There are 18,472 voters registered as republicans and 9,454 as democrats. Thirty-one percent of registered voters in the county are unaffiliated.
The numbers fall nearly in line with figures from across the state that were released by the Secretary of State’s Office on Wednesday. They also remain virtually unchanged from the number in the county in 2013.
